Champaign-Urbana Stamp Club
Serving the stamp collecting community in East-Central Illinois...
The Champaign-Urbana Stamp Club is a social group of approximately 40 active members who share a desire to foster, develop, and enhance the avocation of stamp collecting. The club is incorporated in the State of Illinois as a not-for-profit corporation and operates as a hobby club under the provisions of Section 501(c)4 of the internal revenue code. Anyone desiring to join the club is invited to submit an Application for Membership.
The club has been in operation for many years, although the exact date it was founded has been lost in the mists of time. Anecdotal information suggests that the club was active as early as the 1920s, although none of the current members became involved until the mid-1970s. The present form of the club came into being on January 5, 1987, and the current bylaws were adopted in 2014.
The club meets on the first and third Mondays of each month (except holidays) and holds an annual stamp show, the Champaign-Urbana Philatelic Exhibition (CUPEX), each autumn which is open to the public. Individuals considering membership in the club are cordially invited to attend a club meeting as a visitor to see how the club operates and meet our members.
